Gavin DeGraw came close to being the first contestant eliminated from Dancing With the Stars Tuesday -- and it won't be something he soon forgets.
"Had I known it was going to be that stressful and I was going to have that many palpitations, I would've taken an aspirin before I went out there onstage," the singer, 35, told E! News after tennis champ Martina Navratilova was voted off.

"I felt it. It was like an aspirin commercial up there. That mixed in with a little indigestion. It got scary," DeGraw added. "I was watching my dance career flash before my eyes!"

Navratilova, meanwhile, was sad to see her journey end so early on in the competition. "I knew I'd be in jeopardy," the low-scoring athlete, 55, told Us Weekly post-show. "I thought maybe I had a shot with the popular vote, but Gavin DeGraw is too popular so I didn't get it! That's how it goes."
Dancing With the Stars airs Monday at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
