Love is in the air at McKinley High!
On Tuesday's episode of Glee, two of the FOX show's cutest couples took their relationship to the next level — with marriage proposals.
Seeking help from New Directions to plan the perfect proposal to girlfriend Emma Pillsbury (Jayma Mays), Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) had the gang sing tunes all about love while soliciting ideas.
Though the OCD guidance counselor's parents said no when he asked for their permission to marry Emma, Will carried on, and pulled off one of the best TV marriage proposals ever: Complete with synchronized McKinley high swimmers, the New Directions gang and of course, a dazzling engagement sparkler.
Emma quickly accepted his proposal, but that wasn't the biggest shock of the night for loyal Glee fans.
With graduation fast approaching, Finn (Cory Monteith) also decided to solidify his romance with Rachel (Lea Michele).
"I opened up my first credit card to get this. I know it's not a swimming pool full of dancers, or a tux, or…it's not very big, but it's a promise," an emotional Finn told Rachel in the closing moments of Tuesday's episode. "A promise to keep loving you for the rest of my life. All you've got to do is say yes. Rachel Berry, will you marry me?"
Glee fans will have to wait two weeks to find out her answer — the show's closing credits rolled before she could reply — but Monteith says the next words out of her mouth will be worth the wait.
"She provides her answer — in true Glee form — in song," Monteith tells TVGuide.com. "It is a definite answer. But, you know how kids are. I don't think it's going to be as simple as they think. I suspect there's more down the road. Her answer is shocking, I can tell you that."
