Heather Morris shows off a much edgier side in a series of provocative portraits taken by celebrity photographer Tyler Shields. The 24-year-old Glee star (and former So You Think You Can Dance contestant) sports a black eye in order to portray what Shields describes as "as a subversive 'Barbie style' housewife."

"Heather was the most talented dancer I have ever worked with. She was amazing," Shields tells Us Weekly of the highly-stylized shots. "There was no Photoshop or trickery involved -- that really is her doing those moves."
"Our shoot poses a lot of questions, but just like in real life, Heather is definitely not a victim," he tells Us. "More like a really liberated woman."

Shields, who's photographed Morris' Glee costars Jenna Ushkowitz and Dianna Agron, adds that "it would be great to do Lea Michele next."

This whole thing disturbs me. Although it's fake, for a photo shoot, there is nothing "liberating" about having a black eye. As a former professional photographer, I question Tyler Shields' motives for this. I know he's entitled to photograph whatever he wants, and I hate to say, "I would never...", but in this case, I will: I would never have done this type of photograph. This is in VERY bad taste. I know some people will blame her for agreeing to pose for this, but she couldn't have without him thinking it up first. This is wrong on so many levels.

Dislike and do not understand the black eye with regard to edginess......very weird and out of touch :( For a such a pretty and smart girl to want to glamourize a black eye with suggestions that she is possibly a housewife....tsk tsk....10 minutes after the controversy, you and your photographer will be has beens...sorry to say
