Hear Idol Alum Carly Smithson's New Single!

Remember Carly Smithson, that rockin' chick from American Idol's seventh season? She was Irish, cute and bubbly with a ethereal voice, plenty of tattoos -- and a record deal prior to the show that almost got her booted.

Well, she was lucky enough to stick around the Fox soundstage for awhile until she got booted off following a kickass version of "Jesus Christ Superstar" and, even though Jesus couldn't save her, it all ended up A-OK when she pushed a solo album aside to team with Ben Moody of Evanescence for a new band, We Are The Fallen (named after that rock band's first CD).

The new outfit, now signed to Universal Republic Records (home to Amy Winehouse, Jay Sean and others), just finished recording their debut album and have also just released their first single, "Bury Me Alive," complete with a video written and directed by model and actress Jaime King!
