It's only a few months until Christmas and I bet you think both Susan Boyle and Taylor Swift have the Billboard charts on lockdown for the rest of the year, don't you? Well, think again. That's right, Josh Groban is releasing his long-awaited fifth studio album, Illuminations, on November 15 just to shake things up. Be afraid, ladies.
And just to secure his lock, the 29-year-old classically-styled crooner has brought in Rick Rubin (the legendary producer behind everyone from The Beastie Boys, Metallica and Johnny Cash) to help out.
"These are my stories," says Groban, who co-wrote 11 of the 13 songs on the album and is turning it into a Swift-style confessional. "For every one of these songs, someone's going to know it's about them. I'm going to get a text message about every one! This is a very personal record."
