Hilary Duff's hiatus is so yesterday. The singer, 26, returned to the music business this week with the release of her comeback single, "Chasing the Sun," and its accompanying music video.
Though the song leaked early, "Chasing the Sun" made its official debut on Monday, July 28. The cheerful pop track has the former Lizzie McGuire actress crooning, "I'm chasing the sun / Won't miss out on the fun / Gotta get it while our hearts are young / I'm chasing the sun."
The new visuals for the single are equally bubbly. The clip opens in a corporate office, where Duff plays a daydreaming employee who spends her hours imagining herself in her beloved sun.
The mother to son Luca, 2, is shown engaging in absent minded office antics while her thoughts wander to images of herself lying in the sand in a bikini and getting a sunscreened rubdown from a hot male companion. See more sexy stills from Hilary's music video.
"Chasing the Sun" is the first cut off of Duff's upcoming fifth studio album. Due out in the coming months, the record will be the multihyphenate's first since 2007's Dignity.
"I took a break from music for quite a while, but it gave me the power to choose my next steps carefully," she said in a release at the time of her album's announcement. "I'm really proud of the album I've made."
"'Chasing The Sun' is a light and fun summer song that I hope helps people to feel a little more carefree," she added about her new single. Watch Duff's video to "Chasing the Sun" above!
