I've truly died and gone to Coachella heaven this year: The famed three-day music and arts festival, which will be held from April 16-18 at Indio's Empire Polo Club (the original site!), just announced their greatest -- and most diverse -- overall lineup to date.
Talk about eclecticism: Everyone from Jay-Z himself kicking things off to the genius of Vampire Weekend to the splendorous Muse to a bandless Thom Yorke gathering in the heat to toast the glorious state that I believe the music industry is currently in (back off, naysayers).
Legends and their legions, oh my! Can I throw in The xx (get your black clothes laid out), Grizzly Bear (stop shaving now!), Them Crooked Vultures (don't even think of requesting "Stairway To Heaven"!), John Waters (what?), Faith No More (they're back!), La Roux (I ain't their toy!), The Dead Weather (wait...only one Jack White band?), Sly and The Family Stone (Thank you for letting me be at that one!) and Gorillaz (animated? Wait and see!). Oh yes, and it won't be televised given the return of Gil Scott-Heron! Can't wait...
Tickets go on sale this Friday, Jan. 22, at 10 a.m./EST so scoop them up fast, along with more info, at Coachella.com.
