Idol's Kara DioGuardi: I'm "Ecstatic" Over Ellen News!

Kara DioGuardi is thrilled Ellen DeGeneres is replacing Paula Abdul on American Idol.
"I'm so excited about her. I couldn't think of a better pick," DioGuardi told Usmagazine.com at the Nicole Miller fashion show in NYC.
"I really couldn't. I am ecstatic," she continued. "I think it's going to be incredibly exciting."

DioGuardi says she doesn't think DeGeneres necessarily needs music experience to be a good judge.
"I think she [is] somebody who loves music, who has loved the show and has experience and being a star. And part of what we look for on that show is somebody who commands the stage and knows how to bring the best out in her guests.
"I'm sure she's going to be able to tell the contestants how to be stars when they're on the stage and what they need to do to connect with the audience," DioGuardi added.

Kara said You don't really need to have music experience tobe a good judge? Is that how we justify Ellen being a judge on a show for pop stars on the rise who want a career in the music industry? Excuses, excuses, excuses....YUCK. And Ellen's a cool cat too ya have to love her !. but at the same time, yuck. paula abdul is who really should be up there judging.

well, what is kara supposed to say? "I HATE THE IDEA OF ELLEN ON AMERICAN IDOL! AND I HATE ELLEN!!!" not that she would say that, but even if she felt like that she wouldn't say that!!! she'd get in big trouble! ellen is a crack up i love her, but i'd rather they have paula abdul back on the show if they HAVE to have four judges. the chemistry is just dissolved. so boring on the judges panel. and they are smothering us with this four judges business.
Paula Abdul's fans are in a major uproar have you seen all these boycott websites? there are boycott websites all over the internet about Paula fans boycotting american idol for how they treated paula. this ellen thing was the last straw for them it looks like.
you're not the only one who doesn't like kara but i just never liked the way they added a fourth judge in the first place. way too crowded. overkill people!

I stopped watching AI over 2 years ago. Won't watch now because I don't like Kara. Not the person, but her skills in recognizing a GOOD VOICE. Also, to have the PUBLIC vote for the final winner is a joke. Depending on the type of song you sing (majority of the people watching and spending money via cellphone voting are very young). Also, Hackers today are so CLEVER that they can manipulate the outcome no matter what wireless service AI has. It's all a SCAM. Just like yesterday's outcome on America's Got Talent. Granted I will admit I did want Kevin to win because he captured my heart, but Ms. Pineda was DEFINITELY the better singer. Unfortunately, the public that watches this type of show are not people who frequent the Opera. One good thing, believe me, she will be called by EVERY OPERA house, where her voice will get the respect and recognition it should by those who enjoy a GREAT, FLAWLESS and ENTRANCING VOICE!
