James Franco won't be headed to the Great White Way after all.
The 33-year-old actor, who was set to appear opposite Nicole Kidman in Tennessee William's Sweet Bird of Youth this fall, has pulled out of the Broadway show, the BBC confirms.
Franco's rep did not explain why the actor was no longer involved.
The original Broadway production of Sweet Bird of Youth opened in March 1959, and it starred Paul Newman and Geraldine Page. Nominated for several Tony awards, the play later became a film, which also featured Newman and Page, the original leads.
Franco, who most recently appeared in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, is currently filming Oz: The Great and Powerful, which costars Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams.
