Janelle Monae canceled tour stops in Australia due to illness.

Bad news for Janelle Monae fans. The "Tightrope" singer, 28, was forced to cancel shows in Australia this week due to illness.

Monae was down under for her Golden Electric Tour, tweeting on Wednesday, May 14, "Dubai bye my friend. Melbourne, Australia bound."

While she made it to the area before falling ill, Monae reportedly cancelled a weekend show at The Forum after the band had already been assembled in front of a packed crowd. Billboard reports she is being held in Melbourne for "medical supervision."

There has been little information as to what the Grammy nominee is dealing with, but she has already canceled the rest of her scheduled Australian dates. Her official website offers no explanation and lists her next show as a May 31 gig in Philadelphia.
