Katie Holmes is helping recreate a day in American history no one can forget: November 22, 1963, the day of President John F. Kennedy's assassination.
Filming the upcoming History Channel miniseries The Kennedys in Toronto on Friday, Holmes, as Jacqueline Kennedy, donned the iconic pink suit and pillbox hat worn by the First Lady when tragedy struck in Dallas, Texas.

In shock, the late Jackie Kennedy famously kept the chic suit on, blood-stained, after the President was shot, and while Vice President Lyndon Johnson was sworn in as President on Air Force One.

"I feel really lucky to be playing her," Holmes told UsMagazine.com of the part last month. "She not only had great style, but she [was] an artist [and] a writer. She was an illustrator. She was an editor," added the wife of Tom Cruise and mom to daughter Suri, 4.

WOW...that is amazing!!!!!!! Looks just like her.
No one else I can think of in Hollywood could pull off playing Jackie Kennedy. She looks great.
Jackie Kennedy was an amazing woman. Private in her personal life---before she died, she burned all her love letters from JFK because they were only for her. Jackie's sense of style was beyond compare. She was regal and ladylike and always composed. It's blasphemy that the messy, sickly-looking, gawky, cultish Holmes was chosen for this role.
Jaye... That's no stance. That's that frightened look she gets when Tom Cruise comes to visit her on a movie set! OH S*** Tom's here! What do I do?
What's with that stance? Katie's legs are recognizable anywhere; and I don't mean that in a good way. I don't know anything about her as an actor; never heard of her before she dated Cruise, but this should be interesting to see what she can do.
Jackie Kennedy stood with more confidence, but it's probably just a bad selection of shots. The reason she looks like a 60s flight attendant is because she inspired the way EVERYONE looked in the 60s. The reason she was taking her husband's remains off the trunk was to preserve his honor and dignity, and prevent the media from exploiting him by zooming in on the pieces. That's a very loyal and loving wife. Some people criticizing Jackie here have no clue what she meant to America, and how she needed to think on her feet about the greater good of her nation.
Striking resemblance if you aske me.. I think Katie will do a good job as Jackie.
How would you stand after your huband has just been assassinated ?
I wonder if she picked up smoking. Jackie used to smoke like 2 packs a day.
I liked that movie "Bobby", which has an all star cast of some Hollywood heavy-hitters; William H. Macy, Demi Moore, Sharon Stone, etc. It's a very interesting movie about how the assasination of Robert Kennedy affected the lives of several different people that worked in the Ambassador Hotel.
I see some similarities to Ms. Kennedy Onassis; however, Holmes is doing a portrayal, not an imitation. Also, to those who say JKO was running away from the shots, everything from the actual footage to direct interviews with her indicate that she was trying to retrieve parts of her husband's skull (to keep sick souvenier hunters from it). a side note: Holmes does appear pigeon toed, and she has very fat legs (and cankles)...
i think katie is a very good choice for this role. she looks the part and is a very talented actress(:
Jackie Kennedy wasn't running away when she climbed on the trunk..She was trying to get a piece of JFK's skull that was shot off. You can clearly see that in the Zapruder Film.. I'm a JFK biographer.
She a pigeon-toed untalented woman
How the heck did nicole get into this story?
honestly how MANY times must this story be told through cinema or any other outlet for that matter? We get it!!! JFK dies unexpectedly and Jackie O id=s a fashion 'icon'. What else is there to tell OEVER AND OVER AND OVER?????
I like The Photo, very nice!
omg, what a mirror image to Jackie Kennedy Onassis. I say bravo to the huge resemblance because she looks identical to the first lady....good job!
