What a difference rehab can make!

Lindsay Lohan was all smiles when she and jeweler Pascal Mouawad sat courtside as the L.A. Lakers beat the New York Knicks during a home game Sunday. The outing marked the first public appearance since the actress, 24, left the Betty Ford Center on January 3.

"Kobe [Bryant] sent me Lakers hats because I'm wearing Knicks [attire] -- I'm from New York! Gotta stay loyal!" she tweeted. "Good luck to BOTH teams! I said if the Lakers win, I'll come to a game with a Laker hat!"

Despite Lohan's cheery demeanor, her troubles are far from over: the Riverside County Sheriff's Department is currently investigating a claim that the actress assaulted former Betty Ford Clinic staff member Dawn Holland on December 12.

Though Holland is refusing to cooperate in the investigation, the Mean Girls star could potentially faces battery charges. Should Lohan violate her probation before her February 25 court date, L.A Superior Court Judge Elden Fox has threatened to send the actress back to jail for 180 days.
