Lindsay Lohan will no longer play famed porn star Linda Lovelace in the biopic Inferno.

"We are withdrawing our offer from Lindsay Lohan," director Matthew Wilder tells E!.

While it may seem a harsh strike against Lohan 24, who is currently in rehab at the Betty Ford Center in California, the director says it's not personal, it's business.

"We have stuck by Lindsay very patiently for a long time with a lot of love and support," Wilder says. "Ultimately, the impossibility of insuring her -- and some other issues -- have made it impossible for us to go forward."

No word yet on who will take Lohan's place, but an announcement is imminent. "We are currently in negotiations [with another actress] and working out the legalities of bringing her onboard."

Stefanie is right. She deserves no more chances in life. I wish her movie career would fade into oblivion already. Once she gets well, Dina should keep her promise to take the family to New York, and the media should stop covering them. I'm sick of hearing about her and Dina and all their excuses and how it's everyone else's fault.

I think this is a blessing in disguise for Lindsay. The last thing she needs to do is play the part of a porn star. Her next role should be in a comedy. It should be a movie that will make the audience forget about how hard she has fallen and remind them of why they liked her in the first place.

    BWA-HA-HA-HA-HAAAAAA!

She can't be there to fill the contract, plus no insurance..not the maker of the films problem. She needed to be fired. Good luck to her.

Best thing to ever happen to her (apart from rehab)! She'll get something better down the line once she proves she can stay clean again. Best of luck to you Lindsay. Stefanie: I gave up reading your article...too damn long!

To Terri: Lindsay should consider this a huge blessing. That type of movie-I believe, would have tanked her career further. I hope it doesn't get made at all. I believe Ella was calling the movie trash and not the person. Many of us have been abused, including myself, so it's not a matter of judgment. The topic of the movie is just dark and trashy. There is already TOO much of that out there.

She deserves the part??? No, she most certainly does NOT deserve the part. This girl has messed up her life and she needs to focus on getting her life back on track now, period. I'm not just talking about her 4 failed trips to rehab and her current stay in rehab due to even more failed drug tests. I'm talking about the fact that this selfish little slug had the nerve not once but TWICE to blame INNOCENT people on accidents that SHE caused while under the influence. She's trying every trick in the book to weasel her way out of rehab yet again...she's broke...her clothing line 'needs' her, etc. She should be in jail. Instead, she was given yet ANOTHER free pass to avoid jail. The free pass that any regular person would not have been given over and over again. She needs to get into rehab and stay there, period. She's been in Betty Ford for what, one month? She's hardly well enough to be out to work on a film set. There are plenty of other actresses who can and apparently WILL play Linda Lovelace. Mila Kunis comes to mind for me. Matthew Wilder is correct-this guy defended LL for a LONG, LONG time and even got to the point where he looked ridiculous doing it. He is RIGHT for letting her go and moving on without her. It's time that this girl realizes the world does NOT revolve around her and it's time that she starts to pay for her countless mistakes and learn from them. Anyone who writes 'f-you' on her fingernails to a judge most definitely does NOT deserve this role, period. Oh and I find it humorous how your girl LL is claiming that she quit this movie after she was fired...my God, the lies she spews are endless.

That stinks. Lindsay is perfect for the part and she deserves the part. Someone needs to put Linda Loveaces story to the screen and tell the truth. Linsday is a wonderfula actress and would have put her heart into it. Ella, you are so judgemental, do you even know anything about Linda Lovelace's story? I bet you have lived a Cinderella life sheltered from harm.

This was a terrible movie for her to agree to do and a big career mistake. God is looking after her by seeing to it that she is no longer associated with this trash movie.

Bummer for her! But her no. 1 priority needs to be herself and her recovery.
