Lori Loughlin Confirmed for Fuller House: “It’ll Be a Lot of Fun”

Lori Loughlin announced on May 28 that she is at last confirmed to reprise her role as Aunt Becky on the Full House reboot Fuller House

Aunt Becky’s in the house — Fuller House, that is! Lori Loughlin made a lot of people very happy on Thursday, May 28, when she announced on Good Morning America that she had officially signed on to reprise her role as Aunt Becky on the upcoming Netflix reboot of the ’90s sitcom Full House.

“I’m very excited,” the actress, 50, said on GMA. “It’s gonna be really great to be back with the whole cast. It’ll be a lot of fun. We’re gonna help Candace [Cameron Bure] and Jodie [Sweetin] and Andrea [Barber] spin off the new show, Fuller House, so we’ll come back, and we’ll do the first episode, and maybe throughout the season we’ll pop up here and there.”

Prior to Thursday’s announcement, the Summerland alum had been in discussions to return, but had not yet finalized an agreement.

“I don’t have a deal. Dave [Coulier] doesn’t have a deal, Bob [Saget] — we’re all in negotiations,” she told Access Hollywood in April. “We want to be there. We want to come back. It’s up to them. It’s not on us. It’s now on them.”

As previously confirmed by fellow alum John Stamos, Fuller House will center around eldest Tanner daughter D.J. (Bure), now pregnant and widowed with two sons. Like Danny Tanner (Saget) in the original series, she’ll have some outside help from younger sister Stephanie (Sweetin) and BFF Kimmy Gibbler (Barber), who move in to assist the newly single mom.

Stamos is producing the reboot, and is also set to guest-star. He’ll reprise his role as Uncle Jesse, who’s married to (and has twins with!) Loughlin’s character.

“We truly, truly had a great time,” Loughlin recalled of filming Full House in the ’90s. “We loved each other [and] had such a good time doing that show. And I think it’s one of the reasons it was so successful, because I think you really could tell we enjoyed being with one another.”

Unfortunately for fans, not all of the original cast will be present and accounted for on Fuller House. As previously reported, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who played youngest Tanner daughter Michelle, have opted out of the spinoff.

“They’ve chosen not to be a part of it,” Loughlin said on GMA, “which, you know, we would have loved it, it would have been great, but I understand.”
