Maksim: Kate Gosselin Doesn't "Get the Point" of DWTS

In the new issue of Us Weekly, a Dancing with the Stars insider reveals Kate Gosselin's first choice for pro partner: Maksim Chmerkovskiy. "She wishes she had been partnered with Maks because he's a stronger personality [than Tony Dovolani], and Kate likes a man who takes charge."
A crew source counters: "Kate would have lasted about five minutes with Maks."
Well, Dovolani has Chmerkovskiy's admiration -- and sympathy? -- for taking on the 35-year-old reality mom. "I admire Tony," Maks wrote Friday on his TV Guide blog. "Not just because he's my friend."
The dancer explains: "I've spoken to Kate, and I don't think she gets the point of this thing yet. The pain on her face says it all, which is unfortunate."
Gosselin scored a low score of 15 points -- and lots of jeers from the judges -- last week for her paso doble routine set to Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi."

"The show is about finding a way to come out, enjoy yourself and have fun," Maksim writes. Of Gosselin and Dovolani's fiery relationship, he writes, "We were taught to respect our teachers, so as teachers, we expect to be respected by our students. Kate needs to trust him. However lifeless that paso was, he had her ready with the routine."
Last week, Gosselin complained to E! News that it has been"very difficult" to focus, especially with a new custody lawsuit filed by her ex Jon Gosselin. "I can't put my life aside and dance for six hours a day."

But Chmerkovskiy implores her to try and do just that. "It's a chance for her to focus on something other than personal drama. How many women with multiple kids sit back and reminisce about the days they could go and dance when they watch our show? How many people vicariously live through us? You need to enjoy it."

I have been for Kate since the very beginning, but last night was the last straw. I love to dance, and am a pretty good dancer, I have known people that don't know how to dance, but are willing to learn, but I have never seen such a disregard for something that she knows nothing about that she showed last night. Tony was trying to teach her a step, (from the SWIM) and she just stood there and asked him, are we going to dance or swim, she had never seen that step. When was she a teenager, or was she born with those eight kids. Im sorry Kate, but you are hopeless on the dance floor, and when you smile, it's like you're doing it because you know its expected. I think it's time for you to go, and be thankful that you were not pared with Max, he would have walked out on you a long time ago.

To Cadee - What the hell are you talking about girl? Kate is the only "celebrity" not accustomed to performing in front of large audiences? Are you kidding? Do you think the football star (sorry, forgot his name)is accustomed to performing an action in which he is not versed? Yes, he plays football on a field with thousands of viewers but it is not like he is the only one "performing". The soap star does not perform in front of large audiences. His soap opera is taped with the capability of do overs. Another shining example, Buzz Aldrin. Yes, he is an hugely known American hero but he lectures to large audiences about a subject on which he is an expert and most definitely comfortable. But he managed to dance, granted poorly, in front of live audiences. And to be honest, Kate "performs" on a daily basis either on a talk show or her soap box. Believe it is a performance and she deserves an oscar!!I am sorry to say but you are either delusional or simple minded!! Forgive the insult!
I typically don't like to profess immense dislike for a person particularly if I don't know them personally. But Kate Gosselin manages to evoke the emotional of tremendous disrespect, dislike, and basically the feeling of enough is enough. I frequently visit sites that have articles in this nature and always and I mean always people comment on how distasteful this women is. So I cannot for the life of me figure out how she is accumulating enough votes to have kept her on the show so far. I am attempting to be optimistic that she will be voted off very soon so I will not have to continue looking at not only her dreadful dancing but her sour and condescending face she constantly shows. It is very obvious that she does not like being critiqued by the judges. She basically stares them down with daggers of hatred when they do. I realize that she has been in the bottom two most times but you can just look at her face and tell that she is not upset about the possibility. She is PISSED off!!! What great showmanship she possesses!!! Joking! She is the ultimate bad sport and sending a terrible message to her children she claims to care about so much. Finally, in this article she states that SHE just can't practice 6 hours a day. She behaves as if the other contestants don't have very busy personal and business careers albeit they don't have eight kids. They still manage to hold up to the agreement they made with good faith to the show. Apparently, she does not possess such a honorable attribute. GET RID OF HER FOR EVERYONE'S SANITY, PLEASE!!!!!

If she does not "get the point" of this show, then why in the h-e-l-l is she on there!!!!!Let someone else have the opportunity to develop a talent and entertain the viewers instead of America having to watch/listen to her!! JUST GO AWAY KATE!!!!!!!!
I just saw a picture of Jon at the kids house with the door open and him stand in the door way. He is screaming out at someone. Probably at the kids. I am surprised that he is doing this. He is usually trying to make it appear that he is such a good dad in front of the camera. He must have smoked a few joints too many are drank to much.
oh well th queen of mean won another week. i guess a-hole boyd is right the more we watch the train wreck the longer it will olast. well i know i raised my kids with morals to bad the little 8 angels won't. i work for a living and i am proud of it. my kids went to daycare and survived and i am proud of it. well i will not watch anything with this person on it. she isn't worth it. nor is jon. just a couple of losers. well tony maybe kate's plane will go down and nobody will have to see her anymore. don't really care attack me boyd. so before i go all supporters of this waste of skin can GO TO HELL FOR ALL THE HATE YOU SPEWED AS WELL. and don't say you didn't. well off i go to work and also spend the weekend caring for the home i own. that my husband and i worked to pay for. kate and her kids will learn soon enough freebies do not last forever. to bad it will be the kids that pay the price. pray hard tony for that miracle.
Kart is so abusive and cruel. Tony Dovoloni is an excellent teacher and dancer. She is so abusive and shouldn't be on any show anymore. She's so disgustingly cruel it's hard to watch, just like her bad dancing.
Kate cannot dance, it's obvious, she also needs to stop feeling sorry for herself, it's not a popularity contest, it's a dance contest.
Anyone who wants Kate to go home, just vote for the other dancers like I did.
It wouldn't matter who Kate's partner is, she is too used to controlling and emasculating men. She has tried it with Tony, who is a fine teacher and dancer but she wanted to try it with Maks??? ROFL. Give me a break. Maks would chew her up and spit her out, he would have walked out instead of coming back like Tony did. Tony is soft-hearted, whereas Maks would make the effort, if it wasn't reciprocated week after week. I believe he would dump her. Kate needs to be voted off, not voted to remain, she isn't of the same caliber as the other contestants. She isn't anywhere near the odds on favourite nor is she considered a dark horse by any stretch of the imagination. Her fans need to allow her to end that misery she is putting Tony through week after week. KATE CAN'T DANCE - SHE NEEDS TO GO HOME!
Kate seems to handle things well, but dancing is not one of them. She is to stiff. She need to find something she is better at. I always liked Jon and Kate + Eight. Even when sometimes she was not nice to Jon. But when Jon got involved with Haley he was done in my book. I think Kate does want to be popular. Sometimes she is hard on the kids but raising 8 75% of the time with out a husband and some nanny's is hard. She needs to get back to what she is good at. I do think she would be good at a talk show.

I'm not a big fan of that guy Maks. He doesn't get that DWTS isn't about sleeping with all his partners or the other professional dancers. Plus Tony isn't really that good. They always pair the better dancers with the strongest celebrities who already know how to dance. Hmmm it almost seems like a set-up?
Difficult to focus, blah blah blah. More excuses from the Queen of Excuses. Erin has got a stalker threatening her life, but you don't see her using that as a way to garner symapthy.
Maybe I am totally out of the loop, but, what is the cult appeal of this woman to begin with?
