Ozzie and Harriet Star David Nelson Dies at 74
Actor David Nelson of The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet is dead at age 74, a family spokesman said.
Nelson -- who starred with his parents and brother on the classic TV show from 1952 to 1966 -- died in his L.A. home Tuesday from complications of colon cancer.
David was the last living member of the Nelsons TV family that also included actor/bandleader dad Ozzie, singer mom Harriet and teen idol brother Rick. David also directed and produced several episodes of the show, which was shot in the family's Hollywood Hills home.
His singer nephew Gunnar Nelson (of the 90s rock duo Nelson) said in a statement Wednesday that the death was "a great loss to the Nelson family...We will all miss Uncle Dave's laughter and evolved sense of humor."
The actor appeared in such films as Peyton Place, The Remarkable Mr. Pennypacker, Day of the Outlaw and others, plus TV shows like The Love Boat, Up in Smoke and a Family For Joe.
