Orlando Bloom can add another accolade to his resume: honorary college graduate!
The Pirates of the Caribbean actor, 33, donned a red graduation gown as he received an honorary degree from the University of Kent.
"It's a really big deal. It's an exciting day for me," Bloom told the UK Press. "I'm really honored to be back in my home town. I have so many amazing memories of the cathedral and Canterbury."
Bloom was honored among more than 340 graduates in Tuesday's ceremony. Fiancee Miranda Kerr was on hand to support Bloom, as were his parents and sister.
"I have lived near the university so it's like my playground," Bloom said proudly. "It's a huge, huge honor and I feel chuffed, as does my mother -- nobody more than my mother!"
This was the first graduation ceremony for Bloom -- who proposed to the 27-year-old supermodel with an estimated $65,000 ring in June -- after missing his graduation at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama while filming Lord of the Rings.
