Pope & Associates, meet Portia! As ABC’s Scandal gears up for season 4, there will be a new face in Washington, D.C. Portia de Rossi has been cast in a multi-episode arc, Entertainment Weekly reports.
The first to break the news on Wednesday, July 23 was de Rossi’s proud wife Ellen DeGeneres, who tweeted, “So annoying when people brag on twitter & that's why I'm not tweeting that Portia just signed on to do a top secret arc on ‘Scandal’. Oops.”
No news yet on what this “top secret” arc might be, but with Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) and Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) last spotted on a flight out of D.C., the crew will need as much help as they can get.
TV veteran de Rossi, 41, played Lindsay Bluth Funke on the hit show Arrested Development and Nelle Porter on the popular sitcom Ally McBeal. She’s not the first beloved TV star to have an arc on Scandal. In season 3, Lisa Kudrow played Congresswoman Josephine Marcus, who made a play for the White House.
