Fresh face Ashley Rickards is instantly appealing in this goofy high school comedy. She plays Jenna, an adorably wry outcast who intrigues a campus hottie (Beau Mirchoff of Desperate Housewives). Some characters, like a very clueless counselor, can get too silly, but that awkward romance sparkles. Consider this your homework before MTV launches season 2! (MTV/CreateSpace, $20)
