Us Rating: ****

"Let's be honest: that last Relapse CD was 'eh,'" Eminem admits of his 2009 disc on his new No. 1 smash single, "Not Afraid." The MC, 37, redeems himself in this explosive follow-up (his sixth CD), on which he minimizes his now-dated celeb disses (though he still takes a jab at ex Mariah Carey on the hard-hitting opener, "Cold Wind Blows") in favor of 17 introspective missives. He also tosses in humor -- "W.T.P." stands for "white trash party" -- plus cameos by Rihanna and Pink. Slim Shady can stand tall again. (Aftermath/Interscope)
