This solid comedy hits its stride with a sweet holiday tale. Mom Frankie (Patricia Heaton) wishes hubby Mike (Neil Flynn) would splurge for a new dishwasher -- to cover up the "dishwasher hole" in time for their Christmas Eve party. Bolstered by the stars' chemistry, that humble plot leads to good, clean fun. The show's young stars earn laughs, too. Geeky teen Sue (Eden Sher) learns precocious Brick (Atticus Shaffer) has issues with the bible -- specifically the story of Noah's Ark. "The poop alone" would be problematic, he reasons. (ABC, 8 p.m.)
