After five years, caustic Dr. House (worthy Emmy nominee Hugh Laurie) sees his demons finally catch up with him.
First, his selfishness nearly derails his friendship with Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard); later, his Vicodin addiction leads to hallucinations. Naturally, House still manages to solve the usual over-the-top parade of medical mysteries (a blood-coughing ballerina! a desperately ill hostagetaker!).
It’s too bad the love lives of his medical team -- including the relationship between Thirteen (Olivia Wilde) and Foreman (Omar Epps) -- are so blah. (Universal, $60)
