Get ready for a real circus act in season 4 of Ryan Murphy's American Horror Story. The creator of the consistently creepy FX drama announced on Twitter that the new season would be named Freak Show.
So far each season -- employing a core, rotating cast of actors -- has been given its own title and distinct storyline. Following the inaugural season's haunted Hollywood manse theme, Season 2, Asylum, was set in the daunting Briarcliff facility for the mentally ill, and the show's witchy third season, Coven, was set at Miss Robichaux's Academy for Exceptional Young Ladies in New Orleans.
Entertainment Weekly revealed that Freak Show will take place in 1950 in Jupiter, Florida and will feature AHS veteran Jessica Lange as a "German ex-pat who is managing one of the last freak shows in the U.S."
Her "freaks" will be played by returning stars Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, and Frances Conroy. EW reports that Denis O'Hare and Emma Roberts are also in talks to return to the show.
The fourth season will feature 13 fear-packed episodes, but no release date has been set at this time.
