The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Tops Box Office for Third Straight Week

Nothing can beat The Hobbit!

Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey took the top spot at the box office again this weekend for its third straight week.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Lord of the Rings prequel earned $32.9 million. The film has now grossed approximately $222.7 million in North America and $600 million globally.

Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained came in second at the box office with $30.7 million. Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway's Les Miserables took third place with $28 million.

Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey ($32.9 million), Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained ($30.7 million), Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway's Les Miserables ($28 million), Billy Crystal and Bette Midler's Parental Guidance ($14.8 million), Tom Cruise's Jack Reacher ($14 million), Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann's This Is 40 ($13.2 million), Daniel Day-Lewis' Lincoln ($7.5 million), Seth Rogen and Barbra Streisand's The Guilt Trip ($6.7 million), Disney-Pixar's Monsters, Inc. ($6.3 million) and Peter Ramsey's Rise of the Guardians ($4.9 million).
