It was their lucky day! Three Price Is Right winners each scored the coveted $1 amount while spinning the game show’s famous Big Wheel in a now-historic three-way tie on the series’ Monday, October 17, episode — which you can watch in the clip above.
Contestants Manfred, Cathryn and Jessica couldn’t believe that they each had identical original spins, and proceeded to celebrate by embracing one another and jumping up and down.
Show host Drew Carey was also delightfully surprised and exclaimed, “Man, I don’t know if that’s ever happened! I don’t know if that’s ever happened. We’ve had two-way ties. I don’t think we’ve ever had a three-way tie.” (The veteran game show has been on the air for 45 years.)
Because of their $1 spins, Manfred, Cathryn and Jessica each walked away with $1,000. But because rules stipulate that only one person can advance forward to the Showcase Showdown, they were forced to spin a second time. In this instance, Manfred came out on top when he landed on the number 80, beating out Cathryn’s 70 and and Jessica’s 55.
Manfred didn’t do too shabby in the Showcase Showdown. The game show fanatic won not only a brand new car, but a cruise vacation as well.
Watch Manfred, Cathryn and Jessica freak out over their identical luck in the video above.
