Reunited, and it feels so good! T.R. Knight is teaming up again with his former Grey's Anatomy boss, Shonda Rhimes, as he has landed a recurring role on the upcoming second season of ABC's The Catch. The network announced the news on Tuesday, July 19, and details of the role have not yet been revealed.

Knight, 43, is best known for his role as Dr. George O'Malley during the first five seasons of Grey's Anatomy, which is produced by Shondaland partners Rhimes and Betsy Beers. The Catch showrunner Allan Heinberg wrote multiple Grey's episodes during Knight's run.

"Working with Shonda, Betsy and Allan again fills me with immense joy," Knight said in a statement. "I am heartened to be returning to Shondaland, and excited to work with this exceptional cast!"

Heinberg said, "Shonda, Betsy and I are beyond excited to have T.R. back in the Shondaland family — and on The Catch in a role that was created and written especially for him."

Knight's Grey's character, George, was a popular one, but was killed off in a bus accident in the season 5 finale that aired in May 2009. Knight, who landed an Emmy nomination in 2007 for his role on the beloved medical drama, had asked to be released from his contract following diminished screen time. Earlier in his run on the drama, he had experienced friction with costar Isaiah Washington after the latter, who played Dr. Preston Burke, used a homophobic slur. (ABC chose not to renew Washington's contract after season 3.)

Since Grey's, Knight has had recurring roles on The Good Wife and 11.22.63.

The Catch stars Mireille Enos and Peter Krause, and centers on a private investigator who is swindled by her fiancé. A season 2 premiere date for The Catch has not yet been announced.
