The former lead singer of The Smiths (real name: Steven Patrick Morrissey) is recovering after a Saturday trip to the hospital for breathing difficulties after he collapsed during a concert in Swindon, England.
Slumping to the floor after performing an abbreviated version of the song "This Charming Man," the singer, 50, had to be carried off stage by two crew members.
The audience of 1,000 waited approximately 25 minutes before being told Morrissey -- who uttered the words "Good evening...probably" before falling ill -- had left the building to receive treatment.

"Everybody started booing, thinking 'here we go again,' concertgoer Mark Taylor told London's The Sunday Telegraph. "He has a bit of a poor track record for cancelling his concerts."
On Sunday, a hospital spokeswoman said the singer's condition was stable.
Morrissey -- who rose to fame by releasing "What Difference Does It Make" and "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now" with The Smiths before they disbanded in 1988 -- has nine concerts scheduled in the U.S. later this year.
