Goodie-two-shoes Darren (Chris Massoglia) visits a mysterious traveling freak show, meets the creepy performer (a delightful John C. Reilly, who really can do anything) and lands right in the middle of a 200-year-old war between two vampire communities. Riding the Twilight wave of tween fascination with supernatural stories, this glossy fantasy (based on a popular book series) is more snack than banquet. Elevating the proceedings? Salma Hayek as a psychic and Willem Dafoe as a natty old Nosferatu. And while 17-year-old Massoglia is no Robert Pattinson, give him time.
