"American Idols Live" kicked off their U.S. tour Wednesday without sultry runner-up Katharine McPhee, who’s been struck down with severe bronchitis and laryngitis, according to the Associated Press. McPhee, 23, whose doctor has ordered “total voice rest,†will not be performing at the concerts Wednesday and Thursday night.
"That's the most difficult part, not talking!" McPhee “said†in a released statement. She also wrote that she was disappointed she wouldn’t be performing, but "I need to follow my doctor's orders to recuperate and reunite with the rest of the idols."
Meanwhile, Taylor Hicks, 29, is excited about working on his right arm tan on the AI tour bus. "I've always wanted to be on a bus,†the ashy-maned Birmingham native told AP Radio. "You would see buses on the road in Alabama going to their next destination, and I would always dream about being on one and now I have the opportunity."
"So a tour bus with some good, cold iceberg lettuce is probably where I'm gonna stay," Hicks said.

Taylor would be the one I would go to see. I would love to hear Taylor and Elliot sing together,they would bring the house down.These two sing with so much passion you can feel it,and that is why they will excel.

I would much rather see Taylor, wouldn't go see Katharine McPhee even if it was free. I have never enjoyed listening to her try to sing.

Just saw Taylor in the American Idol Concert and would love to see him again and again.....I totally did not miss Katherine not being there. Taylor has amazing stage presence and talent.

katharine mcphee, of course. i hope she'll join the ai concert tour soon. boy, i paid so much for a ticket and i don't want to watch some bunch of new-comers. this ai batch is nice, don't get me wrong. it will be a lot better though to have katharine mcphee with them.

i would much rather c KATHARINE in concert!!! she can sing and she is beautiful. taylor on the other hand, can sing (but not very well) and looks like he is 50!!! (but realy 29) so there is the answer^^. katharine is way way way way....(you get the idea) better!!!!

I would much rather prefer watching and listening to Katherine perform. Taylor's constant twitching and jerking moves make me nervous and I find myself anxious for his songs to be over. I also find that Taylor is not as versatile an artist as Katherine.

The people who made reference to Kat's eating disorder and being rude about it need to step back and be more sensitive. An eating disorder is a serious matter and though it may be embarrassing, you shouldn't say anything about something you know very little about. You don't know what she went through to get healthy. Her bronchitis and laryngitis probably have NOTHING to do with her eating disorder. I've suffered from both bronchitis and laryngitis and have never had an eating disorder. It's something you get naturally - especially if you overwork your voice and throat. I can't believe the nerve of some people being so rude!
