Kimora Lee Simmons filed for divorce from her husband of seven years, Russell Simmons, on Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court.
She cited irreconcilable differences, the Associated Press reports.
She is seeking legal and physical custody of their two children, Ming Lee, 9, and Aoki Lee, 5.
The Baby Phat designer, 32 — who is now dating actor Djimon Honsou — also requested that Russell Simmons, 50, be granted "reasonable child visitation ... accompanied at all times by the children's nanny and security personnel."
Us Weekly was the first to report on the couple's split in 2006.

i've seen some of her shows, and i think she is doing a disservice to her childern by the way she treats her assistants or any one else thats works for her, just watch one of her shows and you'll see what i mean, they are so cute but the way the act at such a young age is not cute.

Now I do think its ridiculous for him (russell) to have supervised visits with a nanny or security when there is no history of any past problems concerning their children I think its being kind of pety. On the other hand I think they(kimora and russell)where both well off when they got together him with def jam and phat farm and her with modeling before baby phat even came about. I do believe that the divorce is way over due it should have been taken care of before either got into a romantic relationship and way before thinking about having children

Well,I can understand why she might want a nanny and security around. A nanny to make sure that the kids have the same diet as at home with mom. The nanny can go in to the ladies room when in public. A nanny takes care of the extras so that he can just enjoy the kids. Security, well with this being such an ugly world the more people to watch them the better.
They have both moved on so let's wish them well and await the outcome.

I don't understand all the anomosity towards Kimora. She used Russell well as I recall she was 17 and he was 35 when they started dating. He was using a beautiful, young model as a trophy wife for his personal pleasure and to make him look good in public. Blaming the woman, how typical. I am thinking Russ needs supervision because she is afraid if he gets them and keeps them he has more money and power and she won't collect her child support.I don't see her as a good mother her kids are like trophys to her always putting them out there to get them noticed. Kimora wants attention and I think she must have been tormented really bad by other kids growing up and I think that by her throwing her riches in peoples face It will eventually end up in reverse. I met Russell Simmons at a charity fundraising. He was very polite, cordial,humble and straight-forward. Kimora forgot her roots when she told the world that her friends suggested she get pregnant as soon as possible for him. He gave her an opportunity to dream the American dream and hang out with the rich and famous. She was a groupie with no talent. Look at her fashion label. It is always on sale in discount stores. What gives with her writing all over the line with her repetitive logo? Ucks! He made her life, lifestyle all what it is and much more. Would her new man look at her, if she wasn't married to a man of immense wealth? Don't think so!
It is appalling to treat a maverick in such a manner, unless he did something horrible to the youth. I am quite sure the world would have heard he is a bad influence on them.
