Baby's first Emmys viewing party!
January Jones welcomed her son Xander Dane last Tuesday — so, understandably, she was a no-show at Sunday's Primetime Emmy Awards in L.A., where her castmates and crew from Mad Men scooped up yet another win for Best Drama.
"I'm so happy for her," Mad Men's costume designer Janie Bryant told Us Weekly at the Emmys Governor's Ball. "I haven't seen [Xander] yet — we've been texting!"
It's the first child for Jones, 33, who hasn't yet revealed the identity of Xander's dad.
But the X Men actress "seems wonderfully happy" in her first days as mom, designer Bryant said. "She is a loving, wonderful, hilarious girl who is an amazing wit and character. I think she's one of the best!"
Meanwhile, Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner also dished on his absent star, who plays icy-cold housewife Betty Draper on the acclaimed series.
"She's home with her baby," Weiner told reporters backstage. "Her baby had his fingers crossed, she told me that! She said it was going to be really weird not being here."
The show's mastermind worried about Jones' no-show. "I had a horrible superstition her not being here was going to bad for us — so I told her to come anyway but she didn't!"
