Break out the booze! Ted, the foul-mouthed teddy bear is back with a sequel — Ted 2 — out later this month, and to promote the film, the stuffed animal posed for the cover of Entertainment Weekly. But it wasn’t just any adorable cover. No, the star of the Seth MacFarlane film took a page from Kim Kardashian’s book and struck the same pose in the buff that she made famous in Paper Magazine last winter.
Except he didn’t shave himself as bare as the reality star, and he opted to balance a pint of fizzy beer on his furry tush instead of some bubbly.
While the bong-smoking bear’s pose is hardly fresh, creator MacFarlane, 41, told the magazine he does want the sequel to the 2012 film to feel fresh. “The trap that you fall into with a comedy sequel is that you’re making the same movie two times,” he explained. “We wanted to make sure this story was completely new.”
The upcoming film picks up with the bear (voiced by MacFarlane) married to Tami-Lynn (Jessica Barth), and trying to prove he’s a person so the pair can become parents. Mark Wahlberg reprises his role as Ted’s BFF, John Bennett.
Ted 2 opens June 26.
