Food Network Is Turning Awful Yelp Reviews Into a TV Show: Details

From the keyboard to the cutting board! Food Network is forcing restaurateurs to listen to their harshest Yelp critics with the new series 12 Hungry Yelpers, the network announced this week.

Hosted by MasterChef season 3 finalist Monti Carlo, the unscripted show will center on restaurant owners taking scathing Yelp reviews to heart in order to fix key problems for their struggling eateries.

12 Hungry Yelpers is a funny new show we’re doing in partnership with Yelp Inc.,” Scripps Networks exec Kathleen Finch said in a statement. “You go into a restaurant and give it a Yelp review and then always wonder if the proprietor ever reads them.”

Among the other new series heading to the network are dessert competition show Cake Masters and a Halloween-theme Cutthroat Kitchen special.

A premiere date for 12 Hungry Yelpers has not yet been announced.
