Duchess Kate is the object of practically every woman’s envy, and not just because she married Prince William. The Duchess of Cambridge stands as one of the most sophisticated women to grace the red carpet, disrupting trends and making the case for understated glamour. Here are five secrets to nailing her regal style.
The Duchess attended the 2017 Virgin Money London Marathon at the ICA on January 17, 2017, in London with her hair styled in a shiny, bouncy blowout, a look she has revisited countless times since entering the public eye in 2004. She reportedly gets her blowouts from stylist Richard Ward, who for many years has been styling her frizz-free, shiny and voluminous chocolate mane.
She may be a prim princess, but Duchess Kate is no stranger to a sultry eye, which she always keeps polished. She visited Farms for City Children on May 3, 2017, in Arlingham, Gloucestershire, wearing her standard smoked-out slate eyeliner to complement her casual khaki ensemble, proving once and for all that you can wear a smoky eye to any occasion.
The Duchess attended the 70th British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) at Royal Albert Hall on February 12, 2017, with her hair swept up in a classic, structured chignon. It’s safe to say that since Kate (pictured here wearing super-sized drop earrings to embellish her Alexander McQueen gown) made her debut, the loose updo has received some serious competition from more structured and polished styles, for which she sets the gold standard.
Pictured here at RAF Wittering on February 14, 2017, in Stamford England, Kate kept her beauty look subdued and let her bold red Philosophy peacoat take center stage. Known for her exquisite taste, the Duchess kept the visual balance in her look by opting for neutral-toned makeup, and a simple, loose ponytail.
Paramount to any of her beauty looks is blush on the apples of her cheeks. Kate attended the opening night of “42nd Street” at the Theatre Royal on April 4, 2017, in London with a lovely peony flush to match her cranberry Kate Spade tassel earrings, which lent a happy glow to her face.
