Gloria Allred Slams Octo-mom for Calling Babies a “Mistake”

Lawyer Gloria Allred is lashing out at Octo-mom Nadya Suleman for calling her octuplets "a mistake."

In the new issue of Us Weekly, Suleman, who has 14 children, admits: "I think it was a mistake — in terms of the well-being of the octuplets and of my other kids. I can't give myself to them 100 percent…if I'd known that, I never would have fathomed having eight more."

Allred — who represented nonprofit Angels in Waiting, which had provided free nanny service to Suleman — fumed to Usmagazine.com in Hollywood Monday: "I think it's very, very sad when any mother calls her child, or in this case, eight little babies, a mistake.

"How are the babies going to feel when they grow up and read one day, as they will, or view on the internet, as they will, the fact that their mother calls them a mistake?" continued the lawyer.

"That is just very, very sad to me as a person who is an advocate for children. Even if she thinks it, the fact that she sad it is very, very troubling because has she considered the impact that would have on the children long-term?

"That's a question to which I don't have the answer, but I think that many people will agree with me that it's rather disturbing that she would say that," Allred went on.

The attorney told Us she's skeptical of Suleman's plans for her kids to earn $250,000 taping a reality show.

"First of all, we have a petition seeking guardianship over the estate of the octuplets pending in the Orange County Superior Court, so we're looking for there to be an investigation of the assets to make sure that the octuplets have received their fair share," Allred said.

"That's pending, so I can't say yet whether I will be or will not be watching the actual documentary or, as she called it, reality show," she added.
