Kat Pettibone

Summary

When Associate Editor Kat Pettibone isn’t working from her couch for the Us Weekly team, she can be found in Los Angeles, basing her entire aesthetic in iconic 1990s culture and embracing her inner teen fangirl for any and all TV series from the early 2000s. When she feels like living in this decade, she enjoys watching shows like All American, Abbott Elementary, Nancy Drew, 9-1-1 and anything Christina Ricci is doing.

Work or writing background leading to expertise

Before joining the Us Weekly team, Kat was an editorial assistant, social media manager and senior writer for Tell-Tale TV and before that was a staff writer for TV Fanatic. These days she’s writing about 30 stories a week, and learning to develop her skills by working with an incredible, women-centered team.

Kat has hosted a variety of podcasts, including Julie and The Podcasters and The Drew Crew Review. She runs her own TV and film discourse blog with upwards of 15,000 followers. She’s also had the incredible opportunity to work various press events and red carpets — her favorite thing to do — but is still waiting for the opportunity to interview Joshua Jackson and Dylan O’Brien.

Education

Kat attended Bronxville High School before moving on to George Mason University to study Communications with a concentration in Journalism. She then returned to college to study at the University of North Florida where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature with a concentration in Creative Writing and a minor in Sociology. She graduated with honors.
