Whatever it takes! Teen Mom OG star Catelynn Lowell is determined to get back to her pre-baby weight before her August wedding. The reality star, 23, gave birth to her second daughter Novalee on New Year’s Day, and her weight loss struggles have been documented on the current season of her MTV reality series.
On Wednesday, May 20, Lowell shared a shot of herself wearing a waist trainer — a new corset-like device that is supposed to help shape one’s waist.
“Thinking about giving this a try! #waistedbykeke,” she captioned the picture wearing the item.
In addition to other Teen Moms like Jenelle Evans and Kailyn Lowry trying out the new fad, plenty of celebs have also sworn by waist trainers. Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian have all shared selfies rocking the contraption.
The topic of weight loss has been a tough one for Lowell. On the May 18 episode of Teen Mom OG, she revealed that she had only lost 20 of the 60 pounds she gained during her pregnancy and had to go down four dress sizes to fit into her wedding gown.
Her concerned fiancé Tyler Baltierra added on some pressure, consistently reminding her about diet and exercise.
“You’re horrible! When you say things that makes me not want to do it even more,” a frustrated Catelynn declared.
“Should I just let it happen and not say anything?” a confused Tyler replied. “If there’s ways I can support you, I’ll do it. I just need to know how to do it.”
The helpful future hubby later clarified his comments about Lowell on Twitter, writing, “My intention is to never hurt @CatelynnLowell I love her dearly & am just trying to support her through a sensitive subject #TeenMomOG. It’s hard for a guy to talk to his girl about weight. It’s sensitive & I sincerely do my best to try & honor that.”
