DJ Khaled Is the New Weight Watchers Spokesperson, Reveals He’s Already Lost 20 Pounds

DJ Khaled is continuing his quest to be the best. The music producer, 42, has signed on to be Weight Watchers’ newest social media ambassador.

In his new role, Khaled, whose real name is Khaled Mohamed Khaled, will publicly document his weight-loss journey on his social media channels as he follows Weight Watchers’ “Freestyle” program.

“Already Got rid of 20 pounds and ready for more. Ride with me on my journey to greatness. Bless up Weight Watchers!!!” Khaled wrote on Instagram on Monday, January 1. “#2018secured what I love about this it’s a life style and I still can enjoy at the same time ride wit me though this journey ! I CAN SHOW YOU BETTER THAN I CAN TELL YOU … I’m so focused let’s go!!”

The new Weight Watchers “Freestyle” plan now includes more than 200 “zero Points” foods that users don’t have to portion or track and also allows for new SmartPoints rollovers.

Khaled’s journey will be shared with his 8.9 million Instagram followers, 3.9 million Twitter followers and 3.4 million Facebook followers. His infamous Snapchat posts each also get a reported 3 million to 4 million views, according to CNN. “By capturing and sharing his process, (DJ Khaled) will enliven and inspire his community,” Weight Watchers CEO Mindy Grossman said in a statement. “Showing that it’s possible to integrate healthy habits into your life.” 

Khaled explained in a statement that he’s being motivated by his 14-month-old son, Asahd, to begin a healthier lifestyle. “My son is my love, my life, and I need to be great for him,” he said. “To be great is to be healthy; to be healthy means a shift in my lifestyle, and the new WW Freestyle program is all about healthier habits for my life. The WW program and community is my partner in this process to greatness, and I’m grateful for what’s to come and to share my journey with you all.”

The lifestyle change comes as he is set to start his tour with Demi Lovato in late February. The “Tell Me You Love Me” singer, 26, has posted many photos with Khaled in recent weeks as they begin their prep, and even shared a sweet photo to Instagram in honor of Khaled’s November 26 birthday. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY @djkhaled!!! Love you and so excited to go on tour with you in 2018❤️” she wrote at the time. “#MoreLife #BlessUp🎉🎉🎉
