A new man! EJ Johnson has lost 50 pounds after undergoing gastric sleeve surgery, a decision he was vocal about on the season 2 finale of E!'s Rich Kids of Beverly Hills.
In a candid Sept. 30 interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 22-year-old NYU student and fashion blogger told ET's Kevin Frazier that he feels "amazing" since shedding the extra weight. Magic Johnson's son revealed how in the surgery, doctors removed 80 percent of his stomach, making it the size of a banana.
Naturally nervous to undergo the procedure, the reality star said he sought advice from Star Jones, who underwent gastric bypass surgery in 2003 after reaching 307 pounds.
"She told me that it was definitely a tool for a whole new life," Johnson recalled. "It was not something that was the easy way out by any means. This is not something that you do and then all of a sudden everything is gone and you're skinny and you're a new person. It's definitely a tool and something that you have to work at."
Johnson's famous dad also backed him. "He was 100 percent supportive of course," the reality star said when asked his dad's thoughts. "He supports me in everything that I do. He's been one of my biggest cheerleaders."
