Drink up, Daenerys! Emilia Clarke may strip down on HBO’s Game of Thrones, but that doesn’t mean it’s an easy task. The British actress revealed during The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday, April 14, that she needed to have plenty of booze on hand while shooting her November 2015 nude Esquire magazine spread.
“That was a funny shoot … Doing those kind of sex scenes on camera is one thing, but doing it as yourself — I need alcohol to do [it]. That’s what I needed,” Clarke, 29, told host Ellen DeGeneres. “They just kept giving me vodka, and I’d be like, ‘I’m just gonna keep the sheet up [to cover myself].'”
The publication named Clarke as “the Sexiest Woman Alive” in 2015. Some of the hot photos included her naked and sprawled out on a bed, covering herself with just a white sheet and striking a glamorous pose in a revealing black bodysuit.
“It’s not really naked, it’s just a little,” said the Me Before You star on Thursday.
DeGeneres, 58, replied: “It’s tastefully done. So, you were drunk?”
“Yes! That’s me drunk,” Clarke said, laughing. “That’s me Photoshopped and drunk. That’s what I look like.”
