Give Kerry Washington some solid time in the gym and she can conquer the world!
"I feel the most powerful after a good workout," Pilates devotee Washington, 37, told Us Weekly during the September launch of her Scandal-inspired clothing line with The Limited in New York City. "I feel healthy and alive and like I'm taking good care of myself. Then I'm available for all the other parts of my life that need me to be the best version of me."
Once she's centered herself physically and mentally, Washington — who recently welcomed daughter Isabelle with husband Nnamdi Asomugha — starts her day looking her best, just as her alter ego, Olivia Pope, does on Scandal. "Tailors are really important — every girl should have one," says Washington.
With the right outfit often comes the right attitude, says Washington. "Even if you pay your neighborhood tailor $5 to hem your pants to the right length so you feel comfortable, do it! Dress in what makes you feel good. Don't dress for other people," explains the actress. "Dress for yourself!"
