Sweat over tears. Newly single Lea Michele has been working out hard ever since her now ex-boyfriend, Matthew Paetz, broke up with her out of the blue earlier this month. The Scream Queens star, 29, has found comfort in SoulCycle and hot yoga classes.
“Safe to say… I’m OBSESSED!!! @soulcycle 💦😀💪,” Michele captioned a photo of herself looking strong while riding a SoulCycle bike on Wednesday, February 17. According to her Instagram, the Glee alum also took classes on February 13, 15 and 19.
“Happy Friday! ✌💋,” she wrote alongside the snap of herself from February 19. In the photo, Michele looks radiant while flashing the peace sign in front of one of SoulCycle’s inspiring neon signs.
The “Cannonball” singer took a break from her new spinning routine on Sunday, February 21, and opted to take a yoga class. “Sunday sweat in hot yoga! 💦✌,” she captioned an Instagram photo of herself mid-workout, showing off her toned stomach.
According to a source, Michele was “completely blindsided” by the split but is leaning on her friends and her workouts to get her through the breakup.
“She was crushed and inconsolable and didn’t expect this,” the insider tells Us, confirming that Paetz dumped her suddenly. “But she is now taking steps to pick up the pieces and take care of herself.”
Paetz and Michele first met in April 2014 on the set of her “On My Way” music video and dated for nearly two years. Paetz was Michele’s first relationship after the death of her boyfriend Cory Monteith.
