Fit goals! Wellness expert Naomi Whittel has a shining new plan to help people shape up, and she breaks down the science of getting — and staying — fit.
In her new book, Glow15: A Science-Based Plan to Lose Weight, Revitalize Your Skin, and Invigorate Your Life, the pro outlines her program, based on the science of autophagy, the process by which the body’s cells remove toxins and repair their own damage. Whittel insists the plan, which focuses on intermittent fasting and improving sleep schedules, will revamp lives quickly. She shared details about her plan and tips on staying fit in the new issue of Us Weekly.
Us: What can readers expect from the Glow15 plan?
NM: To look and feel better! I, along with other “glowgetters,” have seen results in 15 days. In one clinical study, Sharon lost 6.5 pounds in the first two weeks. Margaret, a 48-year-old mother, said she became a “better version” of herself — a more present mother, employee and wife.
Us: What small changes can women make to improve self-care?
NM: Include fat in your first meal of the day and save carbs for the last. This is one of the simplest changes to prevent erratic spikes in blood sugar and boost energy throughout the day.
