How Bachelor in Paradise's Ashley Iaconetti Is Getting Into Wedding Shape

Ashley Iaconetti, a.k.a., Ashley I., is aiming to get in the best shape of her life for her August 2019 wedding to Jared Haibon. And she and her trainer, Stephen Pasterino, are giving Us an exclusive, behind-the-biceps look at her bridal workout. “The idea behind the workout is to not really beat everybody up and break you down,” Pasterino says of his P.volve method, which is adored by Victoria’s Secret models including Romee Strijd. “It's trying to create a program that's more nurturing to your body and is extremely sustainable, so they can stay consistent with the workouts, or they're constantly conditioning their muscles, always moving, and avoiding that breakdown that you get from traditional exercise.” The lengthening and sculpting fitness regimen has already done the trick for the Bachelor in Paradise star, 30, whose goal is to show off toned arms and a tight waist in her ballgown-style wedding dress. “It's the only workout I've never dreaded in my entire life,” she tells Us. “It's so low-impact and you're like, ‘OK, I can feel this, but it's not killing me,' and the results are amazing… It's actually, like, too good to be true.” Agrees Pasterino, "It's like magic, honestly." Whipping Her Arms Into Shape

“Before, I was always scared to touch my arms. I would never work out my arms because every time I did, I'd get so bulky and I was like, I'd honestly rather it be flabby than it be bulky,” says Iaconetti. P.volve’s arm band to the rescue! “The arm band is so wonderful, and Stephen has this thing where he says, 'Your muscles should be singing, not screaming,'” she says, adding that it’s the opposite philosophy from the Pilates she used to do. “Now I feel it, but I'm not freaking out.”

A New Way To Get a Tight Waist

The trainer wants his clients to cinch their middles — not bulk them up, which he says can happen when you focus on scoring six-pack abs. “When it comes to the stomach, I've taken a big, different approach,” he says. “I don't do any of the sit-ups or crunches, but I do a lot of active stretches and engagement through standing exercises and through stretching to really tighten up your stomach again.” He derived the technique from his days as a swimmer. “My whole midsection was never leaner than it was when I was swimming,” says the pro. So, “I've tried to replicate that motion and movement with resistance to create that same effect.”

Scoring Her Best Butt Ever

“My butt is my proudest part of my body!” the reality star declares of her booty, stating that it has diminished in the past when she’s lost weight. This time around, she’s managed to keep it — and boost it. Explains Pasterino, “I have a whole different methodology for working the butt. There's really no deadlifts or deep squats or any of the deep lunges… I use a lot of physical therapy methodology to focus on and actually turn on that muscle in a functional way.”

Seeing the Results

Ashley started working out with Pasterino in July — and noticed a difference in her body almost immediately. “I would say like, three to four weeks later, really dramatic results,” she tells Us, noting that she does the 45-minute work out at least four days a week. Her fiance appreciates the fruits of her labor too! “He loves it,” says Iaconetti. “He loves the booty. He loves the abs. You know, guys don't notice arms as much, but that's what I have been so happy to see results in, and he's so happy to see results in the booty.”
