Husband of the year! Alexis Ohanian surprised his wife, Serena Williams, with four billboards on the drive to one of her upcoming tournaments.
The AdQuick billboards feature adorable photos of Williams and the couple’s 5-month-old daughter, Alexis Jr., alongside the acronym G.M.O.A.T. (Greatest Momma of All Time). The tennis pro saw the oversize images on Monday, February 26, on her way to Indian Wells, California, where she will compete in the 2018 BNP Paribas Open in March.
Williams, 36, and Initialized Capital cofounder Ohanian, 34, began dating in June 2015 and tied the knot in New Orleans on November 16 in front of guests including Kim Kardashian, Beyoncé and Colton Haynes. The couple welcomed their baby girl on September 1. In a recent interview with Vogue, Williams said she calls her daughter by her middle name, Olympia, while Ohanian prefers Junior.
“Now that I’m 36 and I look at my baby, I remember that this was also one of my goals when I was little, before tennis took over, when I was still kind of a normal girl who played with dolls,” the athlete told the magazine.
Williams also revealed that she suffered two months of complications after giving birth to Alexis Jr. “Sometimes I get really down and feel like, ‘Man, I can’t do this,’” she told Vogue. “It’s that same negative attitude I have on the court sometimes. I guess that’s just who I am. No one talks about the low moments — the pressure you feel, the incredible letdown every time you hear the baby cry. I’ve broken down I don’t know how many times. Or I’ll get angry about the crying, then sad about being angry, and then guilty, like, ‘Why do I feel so sad when I have a beautiful baby?’ The emotions are insane.”
