Amy Duggar doesn’t have a bun in the oven — yet.
“We’re practicing, we’re not preventing,” Duggar’s husband, Dillon King, told Us Weekly at a WE tv event celebrating the return of Love After Lockup in Beverly Hills on Tuesday, December 11.
Amy, the niece of 19 Kids and Counting stars Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, echoed King’s sentiment. “If it happens, it happens,” she told Us on Tuesday. “We’re ready to be parents. We’re ready whenever it happens.” But Amy admitted she is worried what pregnancy will do to her appearance. “I don’t want to look like an Oompa Loompa,” she told Us.
When the couple, who tied the knot in September 2015, have baby news to share, expect a unique announcement. “We want to do things out of the ordinary,” Amy explained to Us. King then cryptically noted: “You’ll see a bubble full with color.”
Though the pair were often filmed bickering on season 7 of Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars, they are now in a good place — and share similar views on child rearing. Both want no more than two kids and to raise them in a house free of judgment.
“For me, I just want to be a hands-on kind of mom. He’ll be a hands-on kind of dad,” Amy revealed. “We want to be involved in our kids’ lives no matter what they do. And they’re going to be our little best friends. They don’t know it yet, but they will.”
In the meantime, Amy and King are enjoying life as a party of two. While chatting with Us, the former reality stars gushed about their spontaneous sex life. “Don’t plan it,” King quipped. “Like on Tuesday, let’s get coffee, and then maybe we have fun.’ Not good. Not OK.”
Amy is the daughter of Jim Bob’s sister, Deanna, but she was allowed to date and wear pants instead of skirts. The aspiring singer, who recently opened her 3130 clothing boutique in Springdale, Arkansas, was known as “cousin Amy” on 19 and Counting.
