Armie Hammer knows better than to shell out big bucks on toys for his daughter, Harper, 3, and 17-month-old son, Ford. “They’d be happy if I gave them a stick and something to bang it against!” Hammer joked to Us Weekly at the New York City premiere of his satirical comedy Sorry to Bother You on Wednesday, June 20.
Hammer, 31, told Us that he and wife, Elizabeth Chambers, aren’t especially worried about spoiling their kids because they are so young. But the Call Me by Your Name actor and Bird Bakery owner are committed to raising good humans. “In terms of our daughter, it’s all about enforcing manners and enforcing gratitude,” Hammer revealed. “We make sure anything she gets, she understands that she’s fortunate and lucky to have it.”
Of all his roles, being a dad is Hammer’s favorite. “It’s fantastic,” he gushed. “They’re just perfect little human beings who are so pure and inquisitive and open and free and to see that and want to protect that is . . . it’s an amazing urge and I feel so fortunate to have two amazing kids.”
The Social Network actor and former TV journalist Chambers tied the knot in May 2010, and remain more in love than ever. Last year when Us asked Hammer what he loves most about his wife, he replied, “Everything. That’s the easy answer. She’s one of the smartest people I know. Way smarter than me!”
And the feeling was mutual. “I love him so much,” Chambers told Us. “Every time I look at him it makes me happy.”
