Harry Potter actress Bonnie Wright is sharing an update after her newborn son, Aster, had been hospitalized multiple times since his birth.
“Our sweet little Aster has been to the hospital 6 times in his 5 weeks of life.” Wright, 35, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, November 7, sharing a photo of herself holding the infant in a medical facility. “Getting treatment for a condition we knew he’d be born with.”
Wright and her husband, Andrew Lococo, welcomed Aster late last month. (The couple, who have been married since 2022, also share 2-year-old son Elio.)
Wright did not immediately disclose Aster’s condition, as she thanked her tireless support system for lending a hand during the ordeal.
“He is such a strong, chill little baby. Feeling so lucky to have such supportive family and friends,” the British actress continued on Saturday. “[They have been] helping take Elio to preschool, cooking us meals, checking in on us. The village is possible, text/call your pals.”
Wright, who gave birth to Aster at home, announced in April that she was expecting.
“Two babies on my lap 🐣,” she wrote via Instagram, alongside a selfie of Elio cuddling her pregnancy belly. “Our second little earthling [is] joining us this autumn!!”
Wright, who famously played Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter films, already can’t wait to share the wizarding world with her kids.
“I mean, I can’t force it on him, but I’m definitely gonna positively encourage reading it,” she exclusively told Us in September 2024, specifically referring to Elio at the time. “I hope to read it to him … but I definitely will make sure we read the books before we watch the movies. Could be like reading a book, [then] watching a movie.”
She added, “I’m definitely gonna make sure we go through the books. I also remember growing up with the audiobooks, so maybe the audiobooks would be nice.”
Until then, Wright has enjoyed watching Elio explore the great outdoors.
“These days have been spent getting closer to the land, watching Elio and Andrew sift compost and play in the garden,” Wright wrote via Instagram in January, sharing an update on her then-family-of-three. “Getting lost in books at the library, working on new Hello Earthling projects, building trains and puzzles with Elio [and] watching him grow into this determined, chatty, funny and busy little boy who always has time to stop for a kiss and a cuddle.”
