Surprise! Eva Mendes shocked the world after news broke on Wednesday, July 9, that she and boyfriend Ryan Gosling are expecting their first child together. As she gets ready for baby, the often-private star has maintained an extremely low profile in recent months.
Mendes made her last official red carpet appearance on Wednesday, March 19, in Cerritos, Calif., at a launch event for her New York & Company Spring 2014 collection. At the event, the Hitch star, 40, wore a sleeveless printed floral frock in an A-line cut, which she paired with mint green pumps and a matching box purse. When she wasn’t posing with fans and CEO Greg Scott, she posed daintily with both hands strategically holding the clutch in front of her midsection.
Mendes, busy promoting her line with the retailer, attended two additional New York & Company launch events on Tuesday, March 18. For a celebratory dinner held at celebrity-beloved hotspot Chateau Marmont, the pregnant star wore a shiny strapless dress with a structured bodice and loose-fitting, knee-length skirt. She carried a copper box clutch and wore glittery gold stilettos, as well as a large rose-colored coat.
Earlier that day, Mendes helped launch her capsule line at a pop-up shop at The Beverly Center in L.A., wearing another sleeveless printed frock with an A-line cut. The star accessorized her dress with a blue box clutch which she held with both hands as she walked into the venue and posed for photos within the store.
On Feb. 26, Mendes attended a Violet Grey dinner honoring the late Elizabeth Taylor with stars like Pharrell Williams, Jack Nicholson, Anjelica Huston, Carole Bayer Sager, and producer Robert Evans. For the intimate meal, the Clear History star, who posed as Violet Grey‘s Winter 2013 cover girl, wore a short-sleeve polka dot frock, which included pockets.
Her beau Gosling last official appearance was at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival on May 20, for the premiere of his directorial debut, Lost River. It was the Notebook hunk’s first major red carpet walk in more than a year and he was not joined by Mendes.
As Us Weekly confirmed Wednesday, July 9, Mendes is seven months pregnant. This will be the first child for the actress and Gosling, 33, who costarred (ironically as parents!) in the 2013 drama The Place Beyond the Pines. The two have been dating since fall 2011. Click here to see more pics of Eva.
