Farrah Abraham is expanding her brood. The Teen Mom OG star confirms to Us Weekly that she’s in the process of adopting a child.
“I’m happy to confirm I’m moving forward in my adoption process. This means I will be making some changes in my career to welcome a new addition to my family,” the 24-year-old tells Us. “Very excited, and this feels so right. I’m very blessed for this opportunity.”
Abraham is already mom of 6-year-old daughter Sophia. The little girl’s dad, Derek Underwood, died in a car accident in February 2009, two months before Sophia was born.
In a recently released trailer for season 5 of Teen Mom OG, Abraham expresses the difficulties of being a single parent.
“Sometimes you’re immature, and you’re selfish, and you don’t think about other people but yourself,” the adult film star tells her daughter, who is shown in the clip hitting Abraham and throwing things around the room.
The controversial reality personality has come under fire recently for allowing her daughter to have social media accounts and for giving Sophia more than $1,300 after she lost a tooth. Click here to see Sophia’s latest post on social media.
Abraham told OK!, who was first to report that Abraham was adopting, that she’s excited for Sophia to become a big sister.

“Sophia is in the right frame of mind and is very supportive as well,” Farrah said. “She is very open and accepting to understanding that someone else had other parents, and we would be their second parent and be a loving family to them.”
